HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital issued the following announcement on May 17.
From July 30 through August 2, the HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital will host a Vacation Body School for children in grades 4th, 5th and 6th.
The school will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at the rehabilitation services department, 201 South Cedar, Shelbyville.
The classes are free and pre-registration is encouraged but children may register on the day of class. Children may attend one class or all week.
Instructors will include HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital colleagues, community athletes and volunteers.
There will be fun lessons on a variety of topics including health, safety and community service. All of the lessons will focus on the hospital’s core values which are respect, care, competence and joy.
“This is the second year and we are excited to offer this kind of summer vacation school,” said Tonya Bowrey, rehabilitation services manager for HSHS Good Shepherd.
“It is our hope to instill lessons in our students which will help them achieve healthy habits and a positive outlook going forward in their lives.”
