Spending per pupil at North Clay Community Unit School District 25 is up 0 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Clay County school district spent $7,972 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,980 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 698 to 656.

North Clay's spending in 2016-17 was 38 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
