Report: Neoga spent $8,216 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Neoga Community Unit School District 3 is down 15 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cumberland County school district spent $9,668 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,216 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 803 to 575.

Neoga's spending in 2016-17 was 37 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
