Report: Edgar County spent $9,994 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Edgar County Community Unit School District 6 is down 8 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Edgar County school district spent $10,862 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,994 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 360 to 291.

Edgar County's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
