Report: Kansas spent $11,602 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Kansas Community Unit School District 3 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Edgar County school district spent $12,107 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,602 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 250 to 211.

Kansas's spending in 2016-17 was 11 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
