Report: Oakland spent $12,939 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Oakland Community Unit School District 5 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Coles County school district spent $11,155 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,939 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 294 to 260.

Oakland's spending in 2016-17 was 0 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
