Report: Richland County spent $9,328 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Richland County Community Unit School District 1 is up 1 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Richland County school district spent $9,198 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,328 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 2113 to 2417.

Richland County's spending in 2016-17 was 28 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
