HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital issued the following announcement on May 2.
On Monday, May 1, HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital began its next phase of the $3.1 million construction within the radiology department. This phase is expected to last at least three weeks and will affect the mammography and nuclear medicine departments of the hospital as the major remodel continues.
“Our mammography and nuclear medicine departments will be temporarily out of service for a couple of weeks as we focus our remodel,” HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital CEO and President Aaron Puchbauer said. “We will also be building a new ultrasound space which will include several amenities including a private, attached bathroom. This space will be significantly modernized but will continue to provide a welcoming environment for our patients. Our goal is to maximize comfort as patients undergo important tests. Meanwhile, please excuse any inconvenience this may cause as we build our community a better hospital.”
Throughout the month of May, the hospital asks the community to please be aware that construction is in progress. If planning to visit the hospital please be cognizant of workers, equipment and noise. Earplugs will be available at the main registration desk in the lobby for anyone who needs them. As always, patients’ comfort and care will continue to be the utmost priority. The entire remodel has an extensive timeline. The hospital will continue to keep the public informed as plans progress.
