CITY OF ARCOLA: 48th Annual Broom Corn Festival

City of Arcola recently issued the following announcement.

September 7-9, 2018

Join us for the 48th Annual Broom Corn Festival the weekend after Labor Day, Food and craft vendors open at 10:00am Friday morning. Featured events on Friday include the Grand Marshal ceremonies and the National Broom Sweeping Contest on Main Street. There are several activities for the entire family.

Saturday events kick off early with the 5k and 10k runs. Registration for the event is held at Moore Park prior to the start of the race, which finishes downtown. The most popular attraction of the day though is one of the grandest parades in Central Illinois, which rolls off in the afternoon at 3:00 pm.

Enjoy live entertainment throughout the weekend at the Oak Street Stage and in the beer tent. The weekend is capped off by a free concert on Sunday at the Main Street Stage on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
