Marshall City Council met April 9.

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., with Mayor John Trefz presiding. Upon roll call, all council members were present except Smitley. Smitley was absent.


Strait made a motion, seconded by Green, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as written. Upon roll call, all council members present voted for. Motion carried.

The Marshall Autumn Fest Committee and the Marshall Library gave their annual Appropriations Presentations.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Strait, to approve a Letter or Support and commitment of funds for the Sycamore Street Grant, $25,000.00. Upon roll call, all council members present voted for. Motion carried.

Strait made a motion, seconded by LeFever, to approve a Letter of Support for the Dog Park. Upon roll call, all council members present voted for. Motion carried.

Tharp made a motion, seconded by Wallace, to approve a street closing request from Marshall Main Street for their Annual Lemonade Stand Contest and Strawberry Fest, Friday, July 6, 2018. Upon roll call, all council members present voted for. Motion carried.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Tharp to pay the bills in the amount of $182,424.78. Upon roll call, all members present voted for. Motion carried.

Wallace made a motion, seconded by LeFever to pay Shore-Murphy Associates in the amount of $250.00. Upon roll call, all council members present voted for except Tharp. Tharp abstained due to the nature of her ownership in the business. Motion carried.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Strait to adjourn. Upon roll call, all council members present voted for. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
