City of Martinsville City Council met April 11. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Davidson, Melinda Lovell, Troy Propst, John Skinner and David Doran with Mike Cribelar asbsent. Also in attendance were Mayor Herman Davidson and Clerk Marlene Wilhoit with Treasurer Melinda Owen absent. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.

**Motion by C Davidson 2nd by M Lovell to approve minutes from 03-28-18 council meeting.

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**No Treasurer report presented at this meeting.

**Motion by D Doran 2nd by T Propst to approve March 2018 bills payable April 2018.

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Motion by C Davidson 2nd by M Lovell to approve Ordinance 2018-4-1 titled; “An Ordinance Concerning Reports and Permits.”

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Motion by J Skinner 2nd by C Davidson to approve Ordinance 2018-4-2 titled; “An Ordinance Concerning Junk Dealers.”

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Motion by D Doran 2nd by C Davidson to approve Ordinance 2018-4-3 titled; “An Ordinance Concerning Through Streets.”

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Motion by D Doran 2nd by J Skinner to have new sign made for waste water treatment plant by Wolfe’s Signs for $200.00

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Trees that need to be removed were discussed and of the 8 trees mentioned if the city cannot take them down themselves then quotes will be requested for the remaining and voted on May 9th for removal.

**The city’s old street roller was discussed. Council will consider selling it “as is” and will take sealed bids.

Public Comments:

Mention was made of the National Road Corridor meeting to be held at the Library this Thursday @ 6PM.

**Motion by J Skinner 2nd by C Davidson to adjourn meeting @ 7:25pm.
