Analysis: Shelbyville pays $5.06 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Shelbyville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.5 percent of the $201,311 the Shelbyville Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.06 for every $1 from pension members, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Shelbyville contributed $168,128 to the fund, which saw a $19,641 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $33,182, or 16.5 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
