Paris Community Unit School District 4 Board met Jan. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 4, Edgar County, was held on January 10, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. in the workroom of Crestwood School, Paris, Illinois. Those present were Jim Blue, Mary Liz Wright, Mike Reed, Kit Kirby, Keith Trogdon (entered at 6:45P.M.), Jarrod Dyer, Paul Porter, and Superintendent Danette Young. Guests were Nancy Zeman from the Prairie Press, Josh McCarty, Matt Sullivan, and the 7th grade girls’ basketball team.

Motion by Wright, seconded by Dyer to approve minutes of the December 13, 2017 levy hearing. Wright, aye; Kirby, aye; Blue, aye; Reed, aye; Dyer, aye; Porter, aye. 6 ayes. No nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Porter, seconded by Reed to approve minutes of the December 13, 2017 regular board meeting. Wright, aye; Kirby, aye; Blue, aye; Reed, aye; Dyer, aye; Porter, aye. 6 ayes. No nays. Motion carried

Motion by Kirby, seconded by Porter to approve current bills. Kirby, aye; Wright, aye; Blue, aye; Dyer, aye; Reed, aye; Porter, aye. 6 ayes. No nays. Motion carried.

Mrs. Young gave reports on the Illinois Science Assessment Data and Fitness gram Data.

Motion by Wright, seconded by Dyer to adopt the following policies per the attached document. Porter, aye; Blue, aye; Reed, aye; Wright, aye; Dyer, aye; Kirby, aye. 6 ayes. No nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Porter, seconded by Reed to approve facility use agreement for the independent men’s basketball league as the gym schedule permits. Porter, aye; Blue, aye; Reed, aye; Wright, aye; Dyer, aye; Kirby, aye. 6 ayes. No nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Blue, seconded by Porter to enter executive session at 6:46 P.M. to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. (5 ILCS 120/2(c) (1). Wright, aye; Kirby, aye; Reed, aye; Trogdon, aye; Blue, aye; Dyer, aye; Porter, aye. 7 ayes. No nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Blue, seconded by Porter to exit executive session at 8:03 P.M. Reed, aye; Trogdon, aye; Dyer, aye; Kirby, aye; Blue, aye; Wright, aye; Porter, aye. 7 ayes. No nays. Motion carried.
