East Central Reporter

Cowden Fire Protection District responded to 23 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The calls in Cowden included 18 fires - eight structure fires, three vehicle fires and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $2,500 in fire loss - or about $139 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.
