Marshall FPD responds to 28 fires in 2016

Marshall Fire Protection District responded to 33 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The calls in Marshall included 28 fires - 14 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $312,900 in fire loss - or about $11,175 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries, three civilian non-fire injuries, two civilian fire-related deaths and one civilian non-fire death.
