Robinson ranked 397th in state in lottery ticket sales for June 2016

The City of Robinson had the 397th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of June 2016 -- up 107 spots from its May ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Robinson was $19.70 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the East Central Reporter, Robinson generated $150,365.50 in net sales from its eight lottery retailers in June 2016, compared to $183,493.50 in June 2015.

The City of Robinson is in Crawford County, and has a population of 7,631, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in June 2016 was $15,295.45.

Robinson's top lottery retailer is Caseys Gen Store #1866 located at 1603 W Main St, Robinson, IL 62454.

Caseys Gen Store #1866 generated 30 percent of Robinson's June 2016 lottery ticket sales and 24 percent of Crawford County's sales that month, which was $183,545.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top four cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Crawford County in 2015 were Robinson, Oblong, Palestine and Hutsonville.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
