Tuscola City Council meets to discuss bill payments

Members of the Tuscola City Council met Monday, Aug. 22.

The Tuscola City Council meets at 7:30 p.m on the second and fourth Monday of every month. If a city-recognized holiday falls on those days, the meeting is rescheduled for the following Tuesday. The meetings are held at the Tuscola City Hall, 214 N. Main St.

CITY OF TUSCOLA COUNTY OF DOUGLAS STATE OF ILLINOS TUSCOLA CITY HALL August 22, 2016

The regular meeting of the city Council was called to order with Cleland, Day, Henderson, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Truitt, and Mayor Kleiss in attendance. Mayor Kleiss led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Comment - None

Consent Agenda

Mayor Kleiss Went over the items on the consent agenda:

Minutes of the August 8, 2016 meeting Financial report for July 2016 Payment of bills totaling $147,775.96

Pay request from Owen Tucker in the amount of $40,041.48, for Doris Subdivision infrastructure

Hoey moved to approve the items on the consent agenda. Henderson seconded. VOTE YEA" Cleland, Day, HenderSon, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Truitt. Day moved to approve the Consent agenda for August 22, 2016. Shoemaker seconded, VOTE YEA* Cleland, Day, Henderson, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Truitt.

Mayor

Mayor Kleiss noted the pool has been closed for the season. Kleiss read a note from Jack and Samantha Ledbetter thanking the city for allowing them to use Ervin Park for a recent Softball tournament..

City Clerk - No Report

City Treasurer

Treasurer Long reported the TIF delinquencies are Eddie Boutilier, Red Barn Vet Services, and Rachel Puckett. Long noted Eddie Boutilier and the Red Barn Vet Services have made a payment on their loans. Long is expecting more from them this Week.

City Attorney - No Report City Administrator - No Report

Requests for TIF ASSistance

HenderSon moved Council go into executive session to discuss pending litigation. Cleland seconded. The time was 7:35pm. VOTE YEA"Cleland, Day, Henderson, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Truitt.

The meeting was called back to order at 7:49 pm with Cleland, Day, Henderson, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Truitt, and Mayor Kleiss in attendance.

Truitt moved to increase the TIF grant award to Mac Boyd for repairs to his building at 124 West Sale, to $28,732.00, with the stipulation the offer is accepted by Boyd within three weeks. Henderson seconded. VOTE YEA* Cleland, Day, Henderson, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Truitt.

The motion to adjourn was made by Henderson and seconded by Shoemaker. VOTE YEA" Cleland,

Day, Henderson, Hoey, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Tsuitt.
