Casey City Council recently met to handle an array of municipal goals.
Achieving a quorum with only two absences, the City of Casey City Council convened at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Casey City Hall in order to address vendor bills, committee business and infrastructure matters.
Almost all aldermen were present, enabling council members to tend to routine approval of previous meeting minutes, recent bills and payroll. Approved bills for February came to $131,795.65.
Members authorized payment of an invoice from HWC Engineering in the amount of $1,929.60, as well as a bill from Orr Law LLC totaling $1,279.40 for services rendered regarding a wastewater project fund.
In committee news, the park committee reported having met at 5 p.m. on Feb. 8 with an executive session pertaining to potential litigation.
Additionally, the salary and license committee met at 6:30 p.m. on the same date, moving to executive session to converse about union negotiations. That meeting resulted in a second meeting scheduled between the city and FOP and IBEW Union representatives to commence dialogue.
Public utilities news centered on water main and line maintenance for the western part of Casey, with a lease agreement for a related booster station being temporarily tabled.
