The Casey City Council learned Nov. 16 that a dog bred by Chelsea Clapp for the Casey Police Department has given birth to a litter of puppies.

Chelsea made the presentation on behalf of her father, Lt. Brent Clapp, who is the department's K-9 Unit officer.

The council unanimously approved payment of November bills and set an agenda for holiday events.  In unfinished business, the council considered costs associated with sewer treatment facility maintenance and upgrades, approving Ordinance No. 411 for financing with bonds.

Aldermen reports revealed that a request to lower downtown speed limits had been made based on increased tourism. Police Chief Mark Jenkins also will meet with the ordinance committee regarding proposed crossing changes for slow-moving vehicles.
