Ricky Womack, an assistant high school football coach in Westville, Illinois, has filed for an order of protection against Alec Severins, a local government watchdog. Womack alleges that Severins posted online accusations against him involving criminal activity.

Womack is requesting the court to prohibit Severins from making further posts or publications referencing him. Legal experts note that such a request is considered a form of prior restraint.

A judge in Vermilion County denied the emergency order of protection and set a hearing for August 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 2 to consider a plenary order.

“PlayersBio” published an article on the situation yesterday.

Court records show that Womack was previously sued by the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services on behalf of the child’s mother to establish parentage. DNA test results included in the lawsuit indicated with 99.999995% certainty that Womack is the child’s father.

Information provided by the school district confirms Womack was hired as assistant football coach in August 2019. However, there is evidence he worked or volunteered at Westville High School as early as 2016.

Reports from “Vermilion County Watchdog” and “PlayersBio” allege that when the pregnancy occurred, the mother was 16 years old and a sophomore at Westville High School while Womack was 24. It is also alleged that Womack had some involvement with the school during this period, either as a volunteer with the football team or in another capacity.

Womack was rehired as a volunteer assistant football coach at Westville High School in 2019, shortly after the mother graduated.

The names of both the child and mother have been withheld from publication. Efforts to reach Mr. Womack for comment were unsuccessful.
