Village of Dieterich Village Board met Nov. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Dieterich Village Board met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. at the Dieterich Civic Center.

The meeting was called to order by President Brad Hardiek and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The following Trustees were present: Sean Pankau; Carrie Galbraith; Derick Stumeier; Mike French and Jeff White. Trustee Bill Lane was absent. With five Trustees and President Hardiek in attendance, a quorum was declared to be present. Also at the meeting were Clerk Brittny Gipson, Engineer Lee Beckman and Herb Meeker.

A motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee C. Galbraith to approve the Omnibus agenda: approve minutes of the October 19, 2020 regular meeting; approve the Treasurer’s Report and approve Expenditures. Roll call was 5 yes and 0 no.

Engineer Beckman reported we are still waiting for the joint agreement with IDOT to be approved before we can move forward with the Industrial Park East streets bidding project. We are still waiting on Ameren to start the electric install. The operating permit for the new water mains has been received.

A motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee S. Pankau to approve Industrial Park East Change Order #3 for Kieffer Bros. Construction for $15,616.00 to balance quantities and install extra rip rap. Roll call was 5 yes and 0 no.

A motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee C. Galbraith to approve Industrial Park East Pay Estimate #5 for Kieffer Bros. Construction for $34,454.30. Roll call was 5 yes and 0 no.

Engineer Beckman reported that the OSLAD Liberty Park project will be bid out in December and there will be multiple contracts bid out.

A motion was made by Trustee J. White; seconded by Trustee D. Stumeier to approve Change Order #2 for Tebbe Excavating to cut and remove a portion, and to fill and cap the remaining dry hydrant pipe in the east side of the Liberty Park pond dam for $750. Roll call was 5 yes and 0 no.

Engineer Beckman gave a brief overview of the 95-page mitigation plan that Milano & Grunloh had prepared for the Army Corps of Engineers for their approval of the Dieterich Creek straightening. The mitigation will be entirely on the Village owned property along the Dieterich Creek on the west side of the Dieterich Industrial Park East.

Trustees reviewed the draft Tax Levy document as prepared by the Village Attorney for Fiscal Year May 1, 2020 – April 30, 2021. Everyone was in agreement the draft was accurate and could be placed on the next meeting agenda for consideration.

During the comments portion of the meeting, President Hardiek reported the Dieterich Community Ruritan Club was helping Santa Claus plan his annual home visits of Dieterich children on Sunday, December 20, 2020. The Dieterich Fire Department personnel will be assisting Santa and your porch light must be on in order for Santa to stop. It will be encouraged for children to come outside and meet Santa on their front porch, while maintaining social distancing.

At 7:11 p.m. a motion was made by Trustee M. French; seconded by Trustee S. Pankau to adjourn the meeting. Roll call was 5 yes and 0 no.
