Report: Shelbyville spent $8,662 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Shelbyville Community Unit School District 4 is up 5.2 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Shelby County school district spent $8,234 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,662 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1259 to 1205.

Shelbyville's spending in 2017-18 was 35.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
