Report: Lawrence County spent $8,922 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Lawrence County Community Unit School District 20 is up 2.8 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lawrence County school district spent $8,675 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,922 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1244 to 1210.

Lawrence County's spending in 2017-18 was 33.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
