Paris Community Unit School District 4 Board met June 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Those present were Mike Reed, Mary Liz Wright, Jarrod Dyer, Jim Blue, Kit Kirby, Keith Trogdon, Paul Porter, Superintendent Danette Young, and Principal Dan Lynch. Guests were Josh McCarty, Jeremy Patterson, and Nancy Zeman from the Prairie Press.

Motion by Porter, seconded by Reed to adopt the prevailing wage schedule for Edgar County per the attached ordinance. Reed, aye; Wright, aye; Kirby, aye; Blue, nay; Dyer, aye; Porter, aye; Trogdon, nay. 5 ayes. 2 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Trogdon, seconded by Kirby to approve fees for lunch/breakfast costs and registration fees for the 2018-2019 school year. Lunch $2.85 (reduced 40 cents), breakfast $1.50 (reduced 30 cents), milk 50 cents, and registration $65 for K-8. There will be no sports fee. Motion by Dyer, seconded by Porter awarding bid to Prairie Farms of Olney, IL for milk products using escalator/de-escalator pricing for the 2018-2019 school year for the amounts quoted. The Parent Teacher Advisory Committee Report for 2017-2018 was given.

Motion by Blue, seconded by Porter to enter executive session at 7:12 p.m. to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. Motion by Kirby, seconded by Trogdon to hire Hannah Howe as an elementary teacher for the 2018-2019 school year per the contractual agreement pending completion of background check. Motion by Kirby, seconded by Wright to hire Melissa White as a paraprofessional for the 2018-2019 school year at the rate of $11.00 per hour, pending completion of a background check.
