Charleston Carnegie Public Library board gathers for special meeting

The Charleston Carnegie Public Library board met Monday, May 16.

The Charleston Carnegie Library Board acts as a governing board for the library and establishes all policies. It consists of nine trustees.

Here are the meeting minutes as provided by the Charleston Carnegie Public Library board:

Special Meeting Minutes

Monday, May 16th, 2016 – 6:30 pm

1. Physically Present for Roll Call: Droste, Renaud, Newell, Cunningham, Ricci & Director Hamilton

2. Discuss Plans for New Director Search and Interim Period

The board discussed the plans for a director search. They approved the proposed ad and description with minor changes and instructed Hamilton to post it on Library listservs, etc. on Tuesday, May 17 th.

They also approved Hamilton working part time at a rate of $25 per hour in the interim period to help ensure a smooth transition.

They planned a small group meeting with the managers on Friday and instructed Hamilton to create strategic goals that managers and other staff can work to complete.

Then the new director can feel free to add additional goals when they are settled.
