Casey-Westfield education board discusses intergovernmental agreement
The Casey-Westfield board of education discussed an intergovernmental agreement with Shiloh CUSD 1, Cumberland CUSD 77 and Paris District 4 for the 2016-17 school year psychologist services.
The issue was discussed in a meeting during the regular session at the unit office on Jan. 25. President Robert Dougherty recognized visitors Jeanne Unzicker, Tammy Davis and Ronda Smiley in the early part of the meeting.
At roll call, board members marked present included Terri Cox, Tracy Gelb, Barry Howe, Alan Hutton, Casey Overbeck and Andy Tutewiler. Administrators present were Linda Campbell, Melissa Meiners, Jim Sullivan and Dee Scott.
The conduct of public hearing for the issuance of $1,030,000 School Fire Prevention and Safety Bonds was discussed, as well. The bond issue was reviewed, as Scott explained that the bond funds would be used to address the required improvements identified in the district’s 10-year health life safety review reports. Maturity schedule options were presented and discussed with the board.
Next, minutes of the regular meeting held Dec. 21 were discussed. Minutes of the closed session meetings of July 7 and 21 were also discussed. A discussion occurred concerning the approval of the destruction of the verbatim record of those meetings as authorized by Board Policy 220 and 220-E1.
Finally, members reviewed the financial and budgetary reports and approval of the current invoices for payment.
