City of Casey to move forward on waterline, land agreements

The City Council of Casey, Illinois will meet at 6 this evening, March 7, to gather updates on current water developments and other infrastructure projects.

Heading the council’s agenda tonight will be pending approvals and discussion regarding the Casey-Marshall waterline contract. Alderman Michael Nichols will report on a March 4 meeting in reference to the waterline project.

Additionally on tonight’s schedule are the purchase of land and a property lease agreement for the waterline project’s proposed booster station, as well as a public infrastructure program grant application and coordination services with the Coles County Regional Planning and Development Commission.

The council will accept the resignation of Alderman Sharon Carlen.

Following approval of minutes and bills, and reports from each of the five aldermen, the board will meet in executive session for the discussion of collective bargaining in the form of union negotiations for Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) prior to adjournment.

Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month. The City of Casey’s governing body consists of the Mayor plus six Aldermen.
