Illinois State Representative Brad Halbrook called on March 18 for the Secretary of State to begin a reform process aimed at eliminating improper and illegal immigrant use of Illinois Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDLs).

The issue concerns the integrity of the CDL system in Illinois, with Halbrook urging action to address what he described as misuse by individuals not legally eligible for such licenses.

“WATCH: Rep. Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyille) call for the Secretary of State to begin a reform process to eliminate improper and illegal immigrant use of Illinois Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDLs),” Halbrook said.

Halbrook, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 107th House District, replacing previous state representative Blaine Wilhour according to available records.

The call for reform comes amid ongoing discussions about licensing standards and eligibility requirements in Illinois. Observers will be watching how state officials respond to these concerns and whether legislative or administrative changes are proposed.
