The lowest reported price for premium gas in Douglas County was $3.46 per gallon during the week ending Feb. 21, available at two gas stations, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $3.58 per gallon for premium gas.
Of the 16 reported gas stations located within Douglas County, six offered premium gas.
Across Illinois, the average reported price for a gallon of premium gas fell to $3.99, compared to the week before.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
