As records continue to surface in the case of Kyley Willison and his father Jerry Willison, new information has emerged regarding the misuse of a credit card belonging to the Oakland Fire Protection District. During an investigation interview, Kyley admitted that he used the credit card for “everyday living expenses,” in what was supposed to be a moment of transparency.

An email from LandOLakes obtained by investigators sheds light on the situation: “As requested here is a quick synopsis on our finding. The $5,000 was ran through our BillTrust credit cards, and it was to pay on bad debt on invoices that went back to July of 2018. This was the last payment that we show. He was an actual customer under the name Willison Enterprises DBA Norton Knolls (8705078). The address that we have listed is 512 N Reel St. Oakland, IL 61943. I can pull those invoices that go back to 2018 for your reference if you would like.”

Further communication reveals, “…he was paying back on invoices that we’re in collections.”

Details provided indicate that excluding a $5,000 payment made via credit card without finance charges amounted to over $14,000 owed. Including this payment but still excluding finance charges reduced it to around $9,000. With finance charges factored in, the total owed reached approximately $17,000.

The company also wrote off much of this debt due to the golf course’s inability to meet payments. However, it appears that transactions were processed using a credit card from the Oakland Fire Protection District.

Questions remain about how debts related to Willisons’ golf course with LandoLakes Inc. could be classified as “everyday living expenses.”
