Illinois State Representative Chris Miller called on March 6 for Governor J.B. Pritzker to be more transparent with the public, criticizing what he described as a lack of honesty from the governor. Miller said that since taking office, Pritzker has avoided responsibility for his policies and shifted blame onto Republicans.

The statement comes amid recent developments in which former President Bill Clinton mentioned Pritzker under oath during proceedings before the United States Oversight Committee. Miller said, “Pritzker should be honest with the American people, but he continues to prove to be a perpetual liar. Since taking office, the Governor of Illinois has been gaslighting Illinois citizens, placing blame on Republicans, and refuses to take any responsibility for reckless policies he’s signed into law. Now, he is trying to hide and lie after former President Bill Clinton dropped his name under oath during the United States Oversight Committee.”

Miller argued that Illinois residents deserve better representation and leadership from their elected officials. He said, “Illinois residents deserve to be represented by a real leader.”

Miller was elected as a Republican to the Illinois State House in 2023 and represents the state’s 101st House District, succeeding Reggie Phillips according to Ballotpedia.

The call for greater transparency highlights ongoing political tensions in Illinois government as lawmakers debate accountability and leadership.
