Gotion, a company with known ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has become a focal point of controversy in Illinois. The state has subsidized $536 million to aid Gotion in acquiring land and establishing a lithium battery factory in Manteno, despite warnings from officials about potential security risks.
Mark Glennon from Wirepoints reports that some Chinese-made electrical products have been discovered with “kill switches,” unauthorized components that could allow remote disabling of devices. This poses a national security risk, particularly to power grids, as support for Chinese solar projects continues.
“This Chinese company poses a national security threat and Pritzker supports their agenda to displace U.S. and other competitors. Our state has no place in helping a foreign company who hates us and seeks to takeover American land and opportunities. I’m calling on Pritzker to stand up for the people of Illinois and to immediately rescind his agreement with Gotion.”
Concerns are heightened by findings of rogue devices, including hidden cellular radios, in Chinese-made power inverters used globally.
