Horizon Health is organizing a free Heartsaver CPR/AED course for the public on Friday, March 13. The session will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chrisman Clinic, located at 112 West Madison Avenue in Chrisman, Illinois.
The course is designed for community members who are not healthcare providers and covers basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), which can be crucial during life-threatening cardiac emergencies. An official CPR/AED certification card from the American Heart Association is available for an optional $25 fee.
First aid training is not included in this course but can be arranged separately if needed.
Registration can be completed online at MyHorizonHealth.org/Classes. Participants must use a credit or debit card when signing up; a $25 fee will be charged to reserve a spot but will be refunded after completing the class unless participants opt to purchase the certification card.
For additional information, interested individuals may contact srobison@myhorizonhealth.org or call 217-466-4149.
