Emily Konrad, APRN, has joined HSHS Medical Group Urology in Effingham. She will provide care at the clinic located at 414 W. Virginia Ave. in Effingham. Konrad is a family nurse practitioner with experience in primary care, chronic disease management, and hospital-based nursing.

Konrad completed her nurse practitioner training through clinical rotations at HSHS Medical Group Family Medicine and Jackson Health in Effingham. Her education includes a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Addison, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in Charleston, Illinois.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Konrad worked as a registered nurse in the medical-surgical unit at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. According to the announcement, “her bedside experience significantly shaped her collaborative and empathetic approach to patient care.”

Konrad stated that she chose to specialize in urology because it offers a balanced approach between medical management and procedural care.
