Eastern Illinois women’s golf improves in second round of OVC Championship

Eastern Illinois University’s women’s golf team improved its performance on Apr. 20 during the second day of the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Championships, reducing its total score by nearly 20 strokes compared to the first round at Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Georgia.

The team recorded a score of 332 for Monday’s round and remains in eighth place overall, just one stroke behind Tennessee State. Little Rock leads the tournament as a team, with Eleonore Aernouts from the Trojans holding the individual lead after two days.

Meera Upadhyay led Eastern Illinois after completing 36 holes, shooting an 80 on Monday for a total score of 166, placing her in 21st position. Sophia Miller is tied for 25th with a two-round total of 171 following her round of 84 on Monday.

Addison Kenney was tied as EIU’s leader after Sunday’s opening round but shot an 87 on Monday and is now tied for 29th at a combined score of 173. Mya Mirocha sits tied for 38th with a cumulative score of 186 after posting a round of 91. Morgan Grant contributed an important score with an impressive round of 81 on Monday; she did not participate in Sunday’s opening but currently stands in the tournament’s field at position number forty-two.

The final round will begin Tuesday morning.
