Eastern Illinois University’s women’s golf team finished in 13th place at the William & Mary Kingsmill Intercollegiate, according to a March 24 announcement. The tournament was held at the Kingsmill Resort River Course in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The event marked the Panthers’ third tournament of the spring season. Eastern Illinois was led by transfer student Sophia Miller, who tied for 58th overall and recorded an opening round score of 77—the lowest round for the team during the competition. Miller completed the tournament with a total score of 254 over three rounds.
As a team, Eastern Illinois posted its best performance during the first round with a score of 322 and ended with an overall team total of 1,013. Freshman Addison Kenney had the second-best individual score for EIU with a total of 255 and tied for 60th place after her best round of 80 in the opening set. Meera Upadhyay followed closely behind with a score of 256 and tied for 62nd; her best round was an opening-round score of 82. Morgan Grant scored her lowest during the second round (79) and finished tied for 67th with an overall tally of 257.
Other participants from EIU included Mya Mirocha, who tied for 74th place with a cumulative score of 260, and Olivia Quigley, who played as an individual competitor and finished in seventy-eighth place with a total score of 263.
Dartmouth College emerged as both team champion and home to individual medalist Sophie Thai.
The results highlight continued participation by Eastern Illinois University’s women’s golf program as they progress through their spring schedule.
