Eastern Illinois University will participate in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Weekend #2 tournament on April 17 and 18 in Morehead, Kentucky. The event will take place at Giovanni’s Breadstick Beach and feature matches against Chattanooga, Morehead State, Tennessee Tech, and UT Martin.

The Panthers currently hold a record of 4-10 overall and 1-5 in conference play. This tournament is significant for Eastern Illinois as they recently achieved their fourth win of the season, marking the most victories in a single season in program history. Last weekend at the Austin Peay tournament, Eastern Illinois split four matches with wins over Tennessee Tech and Southwest Baptist.

Tori Mohesky and Alanys Nieves made history by earning only the second-ever OVC Pair of the Week award for Eastern Illinois after going undefeated at last weekend’s tournament. Their performance included a victory over Missouri State. “The duo went a perfect 4-0 at the Austin Peay tournament, including a win over Missouri State, a powerhouse beach volleyball program,” according to team sources.

Sylvia Hasz was named an OVC beach player to watch for 2026 after her contributions during both beach and indoor volleyball seasons. Hasz appeared in eleven matches during the fall indoor season with notable performances including an NCAA Tournament appearance against Wisconsin.

The upcoming matches present challenges based on historical records: Chattanooga leads its all-time series against EIU 9-0; Morehead State leads EIU 12-1; Tennessee Tech holds an advantage but has lost twice this year to EIU; UT Martin remains undefeated against EIU with ten wins. Results from each match will be available following their conclusion.
