Eastern Illinois University announced on March 24 that Clara Glad, a guard on the women’s basketball team, has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both in academics and athletics. Glad was the only player from Eastern Illinois University’s women’s basketball team to appear in all 31 games during the season.
To qualify for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Graduate students are required to have maintained this standard throughout both their undergraduate and graduate studies. Additionally, candidates must be starters or key reserves who have participated in at least 90 percent of their team’s games or started at least two-thirds of them. Each school can nominate up to four student-athletes meeting these criteria.
Glad is majoring in Exercise Science with a Pre-Physical Therapy focus and currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The CSC Academic All-District Basketball Teams recognize top student-athletes nationwide for their combined achievements on the court and in the classroom across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA levels. According to Eastern Illinois University, “Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in the coming weeks.”
