City of Arcola City Council met Nov. 17.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Moreno, Budd, Foran, Helmuth and Henson. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Alderman Hensley and Attorney Petty were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Moreno led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT Adam Kremer of Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC gave an update on DECO Grant for sanitary sewer improvements; RIPI; Downtown Grant; State Legislative Grant (Arcola Center) and Bob King Drive & Egyptian Trail.
APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 03, 2025 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve the November 03, 2025 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 01, 2025 THROUGH NOVEMBER 14, 2025 BILLS Alderman Henson moved to approve November 01, 2025 – November 14, 2025 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Moreno. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 25-Z-4, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF ZONING AT 425 S. OAK FROM R-2 SINGLE FAMILY TO B-1 GENERAL COMMERCIAL Alderman Foran moved to approve Ordinance No. 25-Z-4 and was seconded by Alderman Henson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Moreno Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Budd Reported the Budget & Finance Committee met prior to this meeting and approved Annual Property Tax Levy in amount of $340,500. The Water & Sewer Committee also met prior to this meeting and went into executive session.
Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Helmuth Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Henson Had nothing at this time.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Helmuth moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
