Local businesses in the Effingham area have donated more than $7,800 to support cancer care services at HSHS St. Anthony’s Women’s Wellness Center. The funds were raised through a series of events and campaigns during October, aimed at benefiting local cancer survivors.

Jansen’s Heating and Air and Pizza Man partnered for fundraising activities as part of the “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign. Pizza Man contributed $600 by donating $1 from every large pizza sold on Wednesdays in October through its “Pizza for a Purpose” initiative. Jansen’s Heating and Air matched this donation dollar-for-dollar and included proceeds from service calls, indoor air quality products, and new system installations. Together, they raised a total of $5,005.

Roger’s Home Appliance also participated by holding a raffle for a Speed Queen washer and dryer during October. Their efforts resulted in a donation of $2,040 to the campaign supporting breast cancer awareness.

Fox Holler Coffee contributed $500 through its “Heart of the Holler” program by donating a portion of all bagged coffee sales throughout October from both drive-thru locations.

Crossroads Bank took part in the “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign as well, raising $300 by allowing employees to wear jeans on designated days for contributions and making an additional donation themselves. Eric Zeller, President and CEO of Crossroads Bank, stated: “Crossroads Bank and our employees are pleased to support HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in its mission of providing high-quality health care for all and enhancing the well-being of our community.”

All donations will remain within the local area to help ensure that patients have access to compassionate care close to home.
