7 Effingham County residents in their fifties test positive for COVID-19

As of July 14, there have been seven Effingham County residents in their fifties who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

There have been 473 residents in their fifties in the county who had been tested, meaning that one percent of those tested have the coronavirus. Through July 14, there have been 34 confirmed COVID-19 cases and one death from the coronavirus in Effingham County.

Illinois gathers all of its COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it’s transmission.
