18 Jasper County residents in their seventies test positive for COVID-19

As of September 6, there have been 18 Jasper County residents in their seventies who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

There have been 238 residents in their seventies in the county who had been tested, meaning that seven percent of those tested have the coronavirus. Through September 6, there have been 159 confirmed COVID-19 cases and seven deaths from the coronavirus in Jasper County.

Illinois gathers all of its COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it’s transmission.
