Mullen’s Imitation French Dressing produced by Mullen’s in Palestine, located in Crawford County in the 102nd District, has made it to the final four bracket in the voting for the “Coolest Thing Made in Illinois” this year.

Representative Thomas “Brad” Niemerg, a strong supporter of the local manufacturing industry, expressed his excitement, stating, "Crawford County Product Makes 'Final 4' in 2024 'Coolest Thing Made in Illinois'." The competition, organized by the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association as part of the 2024 “Makers Madness” contest, showcases the innovative products made in the state.

Among the finalists are prestigious products such as the Komatsu Mining Truck from Peoria, the MQ-25 Stingray (Drone Refueler) by Boeing in Mascoutah, and the Mod Box by Enviro Buildings from Quincy. These products have been selected from a pool of over 200 entries, highlighting the diversity and quality of manufacturing in Illinois.

Manufacturing plays a vital role in Illinois, contributing significantly to the state's economy. According to the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association, the industry supports nearly a third of all jobs in the state and contributes over $580 billion annually to the economy. The competition aims to recognize and celebrate the hard work and innovation of manufacturers across Illinois.

The winner of the “Coolest Thing Made in Illinois” will be revealed at an event in Springfield on April 10. As the anticipation builds, all eyes are on Mullen’s Imitation French Dressing from Crawford County. Good luck to Mullen’s as they vie for the prestigious title in this statewide competition.
