• Digital Payments | SQUARE Technology

For the past three weeks, a small group of building leaders have been working to innovate and adapt to changing consumer spending habits. Using square technology, ipads, and our tech savvy student population, we were able to successfully process digital payments at the most recent playoff football game. We plan to apply this technology to other areas of interest here at Shelbyville High School.

Student growth percentiles compare a student's performance to that of his or her academic peers within the state. "Academic peers" are students in the state who took a similar assessment as the student in prior year(s) and achieved a similar score. The student growth percentile indicates the percentage of academic peers equal to or above whom the student scored higher.

Scott Enkoff reported:

• Resurfacing of the running track at The Shelbyville High School is nearing completion. The final phase of this project was the application of lines and lane markings, which has been completed. There are some blemishes in the paint that are being addressed with the contractor. This work will have to be completed in the spring when warmer weather arrives.

• Concrete work for the stoop replacement project at the Shelbyville High School is complete including the punch list items. The metal handrails have been installed, and painted. Unfortunately, the contractor that installed the handrails damaged the windows in the doors of the North stoop with sparks from their grinder. The glass in these doors will be replaced at the contractor's expense.

• Kitchens upgrades are nearing completion. We are still waiting for the tray line for the Moulton kitchen to arrive. We received one of the pieces of the tray line, unfortunately it was damaged in transit. I have filed a damage claim and am awaiting a replacement. The existing equipment in that area is still functional and in use daily. Some of this equipment has proven difficult to procure in the current climate.

• The roofing replacement at Main Street School is mostly complete. All of the rubber roofing material has been installed, and the building is watertight. The metal trim that encompasses the edges of the roof has been installed. After an inspection, the school's architect generated a punch list for this project. The roofing contractor will continue to work on the weekends until all of the punch list items are completed. The damage to the asphalt on the playground has been repaired.

• The conversation of touchless faucets and flush valves continues. The fixtures are being systematically replaced as time permits. This is an ongoing project that will be carried out over time. The bulk of the fixtures at Moulton have been exchanged, the work at Main Street School has been completed, and we are most of the way through the updates to the high school.

• The installation of the upgraded telephone system at Main Street has been completed. This upgrade allows for the availability of more telephone extensions. The vendor was able to return and install the software updates to the new system and fix some small issues.

• The addition of the "Fun Timbers", to the West playground at Moulton has proven successful in the retention of the wood chips on the playground. Historically, large rainfalls would cause the wood chips to wash out of the bed and migrate onto the playground. After several rainfalls it would appear that this issue has been resolved.

• The maintenance staff continues to prioritize and complete work orders as they are received. We are still making progress towards the completion of the back log of existing work orders. The two coop students continue to provide ancillary support in this process. The current climate of supply chains and labor shortages are still presenting challenges. We are experiencing lack of availability of some products. Contractors are slow to respond, due to lack of available labor.

• The staff from the maintenance department and custodial departmentcontinue to meet the needs for set-ups and associated tasks for practices and events. With the ongoing events, and fall sports season in full swing, both departments are busy providing ancillary support for these activities.

Shane Schuricht reported:

• Digital Equity Grant - Good news! We will receive $44,821 for a digital equity grant from the state. We have received this grant the last couple of years, but there was uncertainty if it would be renewed. The amount is quite a bit less than before, but we will put it to good use. I will need to write an amendment for ESSER III but this will most likely be used for either Chromebooks or Smartboards.

• Security Camera Update - We are currently receiving information from Security Alarm. This is a tedious process right now and we are navigating through it.

• Moulton Window Replacement Update - Architect Estimate - Asbestos Removal Estimate

• Land Update

• Special Ed Moulton/Pre-K Position

• Hearing - Monday, November 21 - 7:00 pm - SHS Cafeteria

Motion: Hankins

Seconded: Ballard

Motion to approve the Consent Agenda and adjourn at 9:18 PM. Yea – Hankins, Ballard, Warren, Trainor, West and Bosgraaf.

Motion passed.
