Analysis: Shiloh administrators rank 821st in state for average pay

Administrators in Shiloh Community Unit School District 1 earn an average of $69,962 per year, ranking 821st out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 19 percent lower than in 2016 and 17.9 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 37.1 percent less than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Shiloh School District in Edgar County enrolled 356 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 142 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
