The HVAC repairs will begin shortly. The insurance company has accepted the claim and will cover the majority of the repair costs. Chris has partnered with the new Charleston Middle School librarian to continue Books and Bites. The Library will be launching a new service called Curbside Connection, where patrons tell the library what they like to read and we build them a personalized bundle of items to check out. Chris has been developing an Election Resources page to the Library website. The Library has partnered with the Coles County Clerk’s Office to host election judge training. RBDigital, one of the Library’s e-resource collections, has been purchased by another company. We do not know what will happen with that collection at this time. Chris has failed to keep up with the Library landscaping and will look into finding a company to hire to clean up and maintain the Library’s property.
6. Discussion Item
A. Covid-19 Update
With the HVAC repairs happening, Chris will move forward with purchasing plexiglass shields for the desks. Curbside services has been busy and has been going very well. The City has provided the library with cleaning and disinfecting supplies. Once the HVAC is repaired and the shields purchased, we will need to determine our next steps for moving forward.
