Shelbyville High School will receive an auditorium renovation after the school board approved the project.
“The district chose the lowest bidder and using value engineering approved Bruce Unterbrink Construction Inc. to complete the project in the amount of $255,961,” Superintendent Shane Schuricht told the Daily Union.
The district has received $116,000 in private loans for the renovation, Schuricht said. Allied Union, a construction company, will perform the work.
Schuricht said the work will continue on the project even as students and teachers work remotely from home.
Schuricht also said the board has approved a new handbook for the upcoming school year.
