Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) made a very notable announcement at the May 24 Senate floor debate.
“On June 30 in Arthur Illinois, the Abraham Lincoln funeral hearse will make its fourth visit anywhere,” Rose said.
He invited the Senate floor to attend the event.
“We would be honored to have you,” Rose said.
Calling Arthur a great town, especially for the presence of the Amish, Rose said it also offers a great nighttime show at the annual Moultrie-Douglas County Fair.
“They have the best fireworks display of anywhere in the state of Illinois,” Rose said.
The fair will take place July 8-14 and tickets can be purchased for the event at www.moultriedouglascountyfair.com.
“This year we are celebrating 88 years—and what a ride it has been,” the county fair website reads, adding community members can look forward to yet another year of agricultural heritage and fun.
