Fairfield Community High School District 225 Board of Education met Aug. 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Board of Education of Fairfield Community High School District #225 met in the study hall for a special session on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. for the purpose of discussing school funding. The following members answered to roll call:

Carter, Jeremy Present; McDuffee, J. C. Present; Conrad, Tony Present Merkle, Scott Present; Ellis, Brent Present Miller, Chris Present; Gilbert, Dana Present

Also in attendance were: Jill Fulkerson, Superintendent/Principal; Rhonda Koker; Marty David, Wayne County Press

Chelsea Koerbler and Tristan White, Channel 44 News; Leanne Stuck and Shaun Paxton, WEHT-TV; Clifford Reever, Wes Heyduck, Julie Harrelson and Mystic Bielecki.

President Chris Miller gave a brief address to those in attendance regarding the purpose and clarification of the meeting. He then gave the to floor to Mrs. Jill Fulkerson who read a prepared statement regarding the current state funding crisis to Illinois Schools. She also presented current financial fact sheet reflecting the current financial status of Fairfield Community High School.

President Miller then opened the floor for public comment.

Discussion further ensued from both the audience and Board of Education regarding the school funding issue.

Motion by Scott Merkle, seconded by Dana Gilbert to adjourn at 6:20 P.M.
