Tuscola FD responds to 19 fires in 2016

Tuscola Fire Department responded to 27 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The calls in Tuscola included 19 fires - six structure fires, three vehicle fires and nine other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $76,400 in fire loss - or about $4,021 per fire.

The department also received eight false calls.
